  • Meals can be used at Bruff Commons Dining Room, Bruff To Go in City Diner, Bruff To Go in The Drawing Board Cafe, the Roulez food truck, Le Gourmet and the Orleans Room.
  • Yulman are part of the Yulman meal plans and can only be used at the Green Wave Grille. 
  • Wavebuck$ are on-campus retail dollars that can be spent like cash at any Tulane Dining Services retail locations, such as the LBC Food Court, The Drawing Board Cafe, City Diner, PJ's Coffee, and our food trucks.
  • NOLAbuck$ can be spent like cash at specified off-campus retail locations around New Orleans. Check here for a complete list of these locations. 
  • Extra Meals are meals that allow you to treat a guest or yourself at Bruff Commons Dining Room, Bruff To Go in City Diner, Bruff To Go in The Drawing Board Cafe, the Roulez food truck, Le Gourmet and the Orleans Room. 
  • Quick Picks are predetermined meal options at the select locations in the LBC Food Court and City Diner that allow you to order, swipe and go! 

2018-2019 Terms and Conditions (Official Copy)

These meal plans allow on campus students the most flexibility, value and convenience. Plans have a specified number of Bruff meals the students are able to use each week, Extra Meals to use throughout the semester, Quick Picks, Wavebuck$ to use at on-campus retail locations, and NOLAbuck$ to use at designated off-campus locations. First-year student options are Unlimited, TU 15 or Kosher plans. Second-year options are Unlimited, TU 15, TU 10, TU 7 or Kosher plans. Third and fourth-year options are Unlimited, TU 15, TU 10, TU 7, TU 8, Choice 50 or Kosher plans. Please see above chart for which residential plans are available to you according to years enrolled in school.

These plans are designed to meet the needs of our student athletes on the uptown campus. These plans have a specified number of Yulman meals that the student is able to use weekly in the Green Wave Grille located in Yulman Stadium. Student athletes are required to carry either the Yulman Unlimited or Yulman 8 plan. Yulman Unlimited offers unlimited Yulman meals, 20 Quick Picks per semester to use at select on-campus retail locations, and optional Wavebuck$ and NOLAbuck$. Yulman 8 offers 8 Yulman meals per week and optional Wavebuck$ and NOLAbuck$. 

The Commuter meal plan is sold by semester only to students who live off-campus. This flexible retail dollar plan gives the student $600 in Wavebuck$ to spend at any Tulane dining location on-campus and $25 NOLAbuck$ to spend at any specific off-campus location. Students on this plan receive a $2 discount off of the Bruff Commons Dining Room door price. The Commuter meal plan allows the student flexibility to purchase additional Wavebuck$, NOLAbuck$, Extra Meals, and Quick Picks throughout the semester. This Commuter meal plan allows the student to purchase additional Wavebuck$ in $100 increments and NOLAbuck$ in $25 increments throughout the semester. Students are not required to add Extra Meals or Quick Picks, but if they choose to do so, the minimum is 10 meals. The Commuter meal plan is valid for the semester it is purchased in. The remaining dollars roll over to the spring semester with the purchase of a meal plan in the spring. This plan is not available to on-campus students (including those living in Aron Residence). 

To use your Splash Card to dine on campus, you may deposit Splash Cash using cash, check, payroll deduction, or online using a credit card (subject to a 3% convenience fee). In addition to retail dining, you can use Splash Cash at the Tulane Bookstores, Technology Connection, on-campus vending machines, and many other locations. All food service transactions using Splash Cash receive a 3% discount.

This plan allows the student to dine at Rimon at Tulane Hillel for 10 meals a week. This plan includes $400 in Wavebuck$ that the student can spend at any retail location throughout campus. A student may purchase additional Wavebuck$ in $100 increments and NOLAbuck$ in $25 increments. Meals do not roll over from week to week or to the next semester. Wavebuck$ and NOLAbuck$ will roll over from fall to spring only if the student is enrolled in a meal plan for the spring semester. The Kosher meal plan does not allow for guests and one meal swipe is allowed per meal period. This location does not accept NOLAbuck$, Extra Meals or Quick Picks.
Yulman Unlimited
This plan allows the student to dine at the Green Wave Grille at Yulman Stadium. The Yulman Unlimited meal plan allows unlimited access to the Green Wave Grille only. This plan includes $275 in Wavebuck$ that the student can spend at any retail location throughout campus and 20 Quick Picks to use a select retail locations in the LBC Food Court and City Diner. A student may purchase additional Wavebuck$ in $100 increments and NOLAbuck$ in $25 increments. Meals do not roll over from week to week or to the next semester. Wavebuck$ and NOLAbuck$ will roll over from fall to spring only if the student is enrolled in a meal plan for the spring semester. 
 
Yulman 8
This plan allows the student to dine at the Green Wave Grille at Yulman Stadium. The Yulman 8 meal plan includes 8 swipes per week to the Green Wave Grille only. This plan does not include Quick Picks, Wavebuck$ or NOLAbuck$ but students may purchase additional Wavebuck$ in $100 increment, NOLAbuck$ in $25 increments and Quick Picks in increments of 10 meals up to 50 meals.  Meals do not roll over from week to week or to the next semester. Wavebuck$ and NOLAbuck$ will roll over from fall to spring only if the student is enrolled in a meal plan for the spring semester. 

Student Requirements

A student's academic standing is not a consideration for the meal plan requirement. No exceptions are granted to the mandatory student board requirement.

Meal plan requirement for Class of 2022 cohort (students enrolled as a freshman during the 2018-2019 academic year):

  • All undergraduate students who live in university residence halls (including Aron Residence) are required to enroll in either Unlimited, TU 15 or Kosher meal plan. 
  • All undergraduate students who live off campus are required to carry, at minimum, the Commuter Plan.
  • Second-semester first-year students who rush a recognized fraternity with a university-approved meal plan may elect to change to a Greek plan within the given time frame of meal plan changes.
  • Only students currently enrolled at Tulane University may purchase a meal plan.

Meal Plan requirements for Class of 2021, 2020, & 2019 cohorts (students enrolled as second-, third-, or fourth-year students during the 2018-2019 academic year):

  • All second-year students who live on-campus are required to enroll in either Unlimited, TU 15, TU 10, TU 7 or Kosher meal plan.
  • All second year students who live off campus are required to carry, at minimum, the Commuter plan.
  • All on campus second-year students who are a member of a university-recognized fraternity with an approved meal plan must enroll in an Unlimited, TU 15, TU 10, TU 7, Kosher or Greek meal plan. (Including those students who are second-year living in the Fraternity house).
  • Only students currently enrolled at Tulane University may purchase a meal plan.

If Dining Services finds a student enrolled in a meal plan inappropriate to the number of years the student has attended the university, Dining Services reserves the right to default the student to the Unlimited plan for on-campus students and the Commuter meal plan for off-campus students.

School of Professional Development Requirement

  • All first-year students enrolled in the School of Professional Development who live on campus must be enrolled in either Unlimited, TU 15 or Kosher meal plan. 
  • All second-year students enrolled in the School of Professional Development who live on campus must be enrolled in either Unlimited, TU 15, TU 10, TU 7 or Kosher meal plan
  • If you are a School of Professional Development student not living on campus, you must pay for your meal plan with a cash or check in the Campus Services office, Lavin-Bernick Center, Suite 107.

Transfer Student Requirement

  • All transfer students* whether they reside on-campus or off-campus must enroll in a meal plan. The type of plan you are eligible for is determined by your classification.

*Assuming transfer student is classified as a first-year or second-year student.

Contract Period

The meal plan contract provides meals for fall and spring semesters. The operational dates vary according to individual locations and the academic calendar. Meals are not provided during some holidays and break periods, but students are able to use their Wavebuck$ and NOLAbuck$ during those times at any open location. All meal plans are annual contracts, billable by semester. Meal plans purchased in the fall semester will automatically be renewed for the spring semester for all students unless changed or canceled by the student. 

Splash Card

Splash Cards are the property of Tulane University. A student must present their Tulane Splash Card to access their meal plan. Meal plan participants may not pass, sell, or loan their cards to others. Lost cards are replaced at the Campus Service office for a fee.

Residential Meal Plan

These meal plans allow the student the most flexibility, value and convenience. Plans have a specified number of Bruff meals the student is able to use each week, Extra Meals the student is able to use throughout the semester, Quick Picks, Wavebuck$ to use at on-campus retail locations, and NOLAbuck$ to use at designated off-campus locations. First-year student options are: Unlimited, TU 15 or Kosher plans. Second-year options are Unlimited, TU 15, TU 10, TU 7 or Kosher plans. Third and Fourth year options are Unlimited, TU 15, TU 10, TU 7, TU 8, Choice 50 or Kosher plans.

A student enrolled in TU 8 or Choice 50 is not required to add Wavebuck$, NOLAbuck$, Extra Meals or Quick Picks. If the student is enrolled in TU 8 or Choice 50 and would like to add Extra Meals or Quick Picks, the minimum is 10 meals. 

  • Meals: Weekly meals will re-set each Monday morning at 2am. Meals per week and meals per semester are to be used by the card holder/meal plan participant only. Meals do not roll over to spring semester. A student can use a meal plan swipe at Bruff Commons, Bruff To Go in City Diner, Bruff To Go at The Drawing Board Café, Roulez Food Truck and the Orleans Room at Loyola.
  • Unlimited: Allows the freedom to eat as many meals as desired any time of the day in the Bruff Commons Dining Room. There is one exception: when selecting the Bruff To Go option, the student will not be allowed to enter the dining room for a two-hour window.
  • Extra Meals: Extra Meals may be used to treat a guest. Extra Meals do not roll over to spring semester. A student can use an Extra Meal at Bruff Commons, Bruff To Go in City Diner, Bruff To Go at The Drawing Board Cafe, Roulez Food Truck and the Orleans Room at Loyola. (NOT at Rimon at Tulane Hillel)
  • Quick Picks: Quick Picks are predetermined meal options at select locations in the LBC Food Court, City Diner and Le Gourmet that allow a student to order, swipe and go.

Yulman Meal Plans

·     Yulman unlimited: This plan allows the student to dine at the Green Wave Grille at Yulman Stadium. The Yulman Unlimited meal plan allows unlimited access to the Green Wave Grille.only, This plan includes $275 in Wavebuck$ that the student can spend at any retail location throughout campus and 20 Quick Picks to use a select retail locations in the LBC Food Court and City Diner. A student may purchase additional Wavebuck$ in $100 increments and Nolabuck$ in $25 increments. Meals do not roll over from week to week or to the next semester. This plan does not include Quick Picks, Wavebuck$ or NOLAbucks$ but students may purchase additional Wavebuck$ in $100 increment, NOLAbuck$ in $25 and Quick Picks in increments of 10 meals up to 50 meals. Meals do not roll over from week to week or to the next semster. Wavebuck$ and NOLAbucks$ will roll over from fall to spring only if the student is enrolled in a meal plan for the spring semester.


Wavebuck$

Wavebuck$ are retail dollars that can be used at dining locations on-campus, Rimon at Tulane Hillel and specified locations on Loyola University’s campus. A student may purchase additional Wavebuck$ in $100 increments throughout the semester. Wavebuck$ will roll over from the fall to spring semesters only if the student is enrolled in a meal plan for the spring semester. At the end of the spring semester, any unused funds will be forfeited. Unused Wavebuck$ will expire on Sunday, May 19, 2019.

NOLAbuck$

NOLAbuck$ are retail dollars that can be used off-campus at participating merchants. A student may purchase additional NOLAbuck$ in $25 increments throughout the semester. NOLAbuck$ will roll over from the fall to spring semesters only if the student is enrolled in a meal plan for the spring semester. At the end of the spring semester, any unused funds will be forfeited. Unused NOLAbuck$ will expire on Sunday, May 19, 2019.

Kosher Meal Plan

This plan allows the student to dine at Rimon at Tulane Hillel for 10 meals a week. This plan includes $400 in Wavebuck$ that the student can spend at any retail location throughout campus. A student may purchase additional Wavebuck$ in $100 increments and NOLAbuck$ in $25 increments. Meals do not roll over from week to week or to the next semester. Wavebuck$ and NOLAbuck$ will roll over from fall to spring only if the student is enrolled in a meal plan for the spring semester. The Kosher meal plan does not allow for guests, and one meal swipe is allowed per meal period. This location does not accept NOLAbuck$, Extra Meals or Quick Picks. 

Commuter Meal Plan

The Commuter meal plan is sold by semester. Conduct

Any attempt to fraudulently use the meal plan of another student will result in disciplinary action against both parties. Food and equipment (including dishes & flatware) may not be removed from the Bruff Commons Dining Room. Bruff Commons Dining Room is a “dine in only" facility. Violations of this rule are brought before the University Disciplinary Board. Disruptive behavior, destruction of property or violation of any university policy or code of conduct will result in sanctions through the University Disciplinary Process. Such sanctions may include but are not limited to barring a student from participating in the meal plan without a refund.

Removing food, dishes or utensils from Bruff Commons Dining Room is strictly prohibited.

With the Unlimited meal plan, there is one exception. When selecting Bruff To Go as an option, the student will not be allowed to enter the dining room for a two hour window.

Wavebuck$ may not be used to purchase gift cards.

Dining Payment

The meal plan charge appears on the student’s Accounts Receivable statement in July for fall 2018 and December for spring 2019 semesters, unless we are notified otherwise. Payments may be made at the Bursar’s Office or mailed to: Tulane University, Bursar’s Office #1685, 35 McAlister Drive, New Orleans, LA 70118-5645. Information on student accounts may be obtained from Accounts Receivable (acctrec@tulane.edu, 504-865-5368 or 1-800-798-7633). Please do not mail payments to Dining Services. Meal plan charges and/or refunds are made to the student’s Accounts Receivable account.

Deadline for Changes & Cancellations

FALL SEMESTER: September 7, 2018

SPRING SEMESTER: January 25, 2019

Requests for changes may be made online during the appropriate time frame. Change requests include a daily prorated adjustment that is charged to the student’s Accounts Receivable plus a $25 administrative fee each time a change is made to the meal plan.

Contract Termination by the Student

Cancellations must be made in person at the Campus Services office in the Lavin-Bernick Center for Student Life, Suite 107. Cancellations of a meal plan by the deadline will be charged on a prorated daily basis for meals through the date of cancellation regardless of whether any meal swipes are used. Wavebuck$ and NOLAbuck$ from the current and previous semesters will be forfeited at the time of cancellation. Cancellations will include a $75 administrative fee.

There is no refund of board fees for a student who withdraws from the university as a result of suspension or dismissal.

Failure to participate in the meal plan does not automatically release a student from his/her dining contract.

There are no full refunds of board fees except when a student withdraws before the first day of classes.

Contract Termination by the University

Tulane reserves the right in the case of natural disaster, pandemic flu or other catastrophic events where Tulane must cease operation for a single semester or significant portion of a semester to modify its no-refund policy. The modified no-refund policy would be determined solely at the discretion of the university administration.

Acceptance

The student accepts the terms and conditions of this contract upon initial payment, submission of preference forms or processing charges. Any form of acceptance binds the student to the entire contract.
