Residential Plans

These meal plans allow the student the most flexibility, value and convenience. Plans have a specified number of Bruff meals the student is able to use each week, Extra Meals to use throughout the semester, Quicks Picks, Wavebuck$ to use at on-campus retail locations, and NOLAbuck$ to use at designated off-campus locations. First-year student options are Unlimited, TU 15 or Kosher plans. Second-year options are Unlimited, TU 15, TU 10, TU 7 or Kosher plans. Third and Fourth-year options are Unlimited, TU 15, TU 10, TU 7, TU 8, Choice 50 or Kosher plans. Please see above charts for which residential plans are available to you according to years enrolled in school.

Commuter Plan

The Commuter meal plan is sold by semester. This flexible retail dollar plan gives the student $600 in Wavebuck$ to spend at any Tulane dining location on-campus and $25 NOLAbuck$ to spend at any specific off-campus location. Students on this plan receive a $2 discount off of the Bruff Commons Dining Room door price. The Commuter meal plan allows the student flexibility to purchase additional Wavebuck$, NOLAbuck$, Extra Meals, and Quick Picks throughout the semester. This Commuter meal plan allows the student to purchase additional Wavebuck$ in $100 increments and NOLAbuck$ in $25 increments throughout the semester. The student is not required to add Extra Meals or Quick Picks, but if they choose to do so, the minimum is 10 meals. The Commuter meal plan is valid for the semester it is purchased in. The remaining dollars roll over to the spring semester with the purchase of a meal plan in the spring. This plan is not available to on-campus students (including those living in Aron Residence).

Kosher Plan

This plan allows the student to dine at Rimon at Tulane Hillel for 10 meals a week. This plan includes $400 in Wavebuck$ that the student can spend at any retail location throughout campus. A student may purchase additional Wavebuck$ in $100 increments and NOLAbuck$ in $25 increments. Meals do not roll over from week to week or to the next semester. Wavebuck$ and NOLAbuck$ will roll over from fall to spring only if the student is enrolled in a meal plan for the spring semester. The Kosher meal plan does not allow for guests, and one meal swipe is allowed per meal period. This location does not accept NOLAbuck$, Extra Meals or Quick Picks.

FAQs

Q: WHEN WILL MY STUDENT BE ABLE TO SELECT THEIR MEAL PLAN?

A: Your student will be able to log into the Tulane Meal Plan Portal (mealplan.tulane.edu) Wednesday, July 11 to make their meal plan selection. When your student logs in, they may see that they have been defaulted to the Unlimited plan as a placeholder. However, please be assured that you and your student have time to choose the plan that is best for you and your family. Meal plan selection closes on September 7.

Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF MY STUDENT DOESN'T SELECT A MEAL PLAN RIGHT NOW?

A: Annually, student fees including room and board are included on the student's July Accounts Receivable bill, which means you will see a meal plan charge of $3,225 on your July 13 bill. Normally by this time in the summer, your student would have selected their meal plan, but given all the enhancements we are making to campus dining we are delayed in opening up our portal. Both first and second year plans have a base cost of $3,225, which means you will not be charged for changing your student's plan unless you make additions to the base plan.

Students who choose a Kosher meal plan will have the remaining $1,150 charged to their August 15 bill. Students who live off campus and choose the Commuter meal plan will have their billing adjusted accordingly on the August 15 bill.

Q: HOW DOES MY STUDENT MAKE ADDITIONS TO THEIR BASE PLAN?

A: If your student would like to add extra Wavebuck$, NOLAbuck$, Quick Picks, or Extra Meals, they may do so when selecting their meal plan once the meal plan website opens on July 11, 2018. Additional items will be charged to the August 15 bill. For more information on the cost of additional items, please visit: https://diningservices.tulane.edu/dining-plans/index.html

Q: WHAT ENHANCEMENTS CAN MY STUDENT EXPECT TO SEE THIS YEAR IN DINING?

A: Our goal with these meal plans is to expand your student's access to food outside of Bruff Commons Dining Room. To that end, we are busy making improvements across campus dining.

Some of these changes include: increasing the number of Wavebuck$ in some base meal plans, bringing a third food truck to campus, adding a new PJ's Coffee Cart; innovative menu concepts in Bruff Commons, Le Gourmet, and City Diner; two electric tuktuk carts that will provide a variety of options around campus; the implementation of an on-campus mobile food ordering app, a healthy choices program called Healthy TU; and regular pop-up events featuring outdoor grills, enhancing our bi-monthly farmers market and much more!

Tulane students are also able to dine at our next-door neighbor Loyola University. Tulane meal swipes are accepted at Loyola's Orleans Dining Room. Loyola also has a Smoothie King, Tsunami Sushi, Starbuck's, Subway and Original Burger Company on Campus.

Q:WHERE CAN I SEE ALL THE DINING OPTIONS AND LOCATIONS AVAILABLE TO MY STUDENT?

A: A full list of our locations is available here on our website:

https://diningservices.tulane.edu/diningchoices/uptown/index.html

Q:WHO CAN MY STUDENT SPEAK WITH IF THEY HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THEIR MEAL PLAN?

A: If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to Jackie Rouege at jrouege@tulane.edu
